Fire Safety

Some of us remember Smokey the Bear's famous quote
"Only you can prevent forest fires"

Some recognize Sparky the Fire Dog

Either way, safety is always first.

Three things to help you and your loved ones to get out safely when there is a fire

1. Put fire alarms and/or smoke detectors on all floors of your house

2. Make an escape plan

3. Always practice fire safety

Remember that in the case of a fire, stay low to the ground because the smoke is rising to the ceiling because warm air rises. The air near the floor will be clearer making it easier to see and breath.

If at any point you or your clothing is on fire stop, drop, and roll.

If you find yourself trapped inside a burning building move towards a window
and wave brightly colored objects to signal you are there.

Explain to children that firefighters are there to help them,
and not to hide when they hear them calling.

Make sure you check the batteries in your smoke detectors
every 30 days to ensure they are working properly.

Remember, fire is a very serious matter, never take it for granted.

Remember if you play with fire, you will get burned.
